distrorankings.com???

dont know how long this site has been up but i stumbled across it today and saw on the home page the 10 most recently added distros and Arch was the most recently added, yesterday as a matter of fact. http://distrorankings.com/project/view/id/191

you can vote for distros and give them a ranking on a scale of 1-10. right now arch only has 4 votes and a rank of 49.9 (i gave it a 10!)

also on the description page is lists Per Liden as the developer. who's that? i thought it was judd.

anyway, i know these kinds of sites dont mean much to people who really know, but just thought it was interesting that Arch was newly added

Arch Linux is an independent i686-optimised community distribution for intermediate and advanced Linux users. Originally based on ideas from CRUX, a great distribution developed by Per Lidén.

That's it, Per was/is(?) the developer of Crux.

I voted. Muuhaha, Every vote counts I suppose. Arch is number 3! woot. I actuaslly find it sort of funny. Up until about 6months ago I never knew arch exsisted. I was too into "fedora" but I gave up on burning DVD's every couple of months and completely reinstalling to get a new release. Which is one of the main reasons that I did switch to arch. I still have my old gimmick cd(which isn't that old) .

I don't thinks this kind of sites does somethig useful. What is StartCom Linux??? I didn't see it even on DistroWatch.

What these ratings show? Quality? Popularity? I don't think so. Maybe just how many users of each distro knows about this site?

that site is made by publishers of aurox linux and the site itself is far from perfect (votes floods etc.) so don't expect to be neutral and "nice"

This site indeed has been made by Aurox distro people and it is not surprising that aurox itself is on a high, 6th position, whereas on other rankings it's far far away from this place. Rubbish.

We've almost surpassed Debian in votes. That in itself shows how foolish that site is. You can't tell me that Arch is more popular than Debian. Well, you could, but you'd be lying 8)

didnt know the site was put up by another distro and yeah it is pretty ugly too

i just voted again arch has the highest ranking of any distro, server or otherwise on the site now.

wonder how long it will take all the aurox users to finally find their way and begin using the best distro around!

oh and Romashka, search for startcom linux on distrowatch, you will find it. they list pratically every distro, but only display their top 100

I am still not convinced of the existence of aurox users (= more than one), but admittedly, his or her distro is highly published.
