They didn't bring that up, it was an analogy to say that nobody is going to judge or care if you more directly explain what you're trying to do. People who stop to help in forums like these are rarely (if ever) paid - they're here out of kindness and generosity alone.  And before they can do that, you have to be capable of explaining your intentions.

Despite the aggressive tone at times, they still provided you with the solution. Only for you to respond back with generalizations and attacks onto the community at large. Learning something new is a humbling experience - it's okay to be ignorant. It is never okay to attack or belittle others. As you continue your education, you'll reach a moment where someone is asking for help and it will all click. Wish you the best, but please be more open to expressing gratitude in the future.

I understand from your own statements that you are new to this. The people in this thread initially tried to get to the bottom of exactly what you needed so that they could help you to find an appropriate solution[1]. That did not work because you seem to have taken the questions the wrong way. Even now it seems that you have still misunderstood several replies in this thread. While I recognize that some of the replies here were less diplomatic than they should have been, I also understand the frustration which bore them. You seem to be entirely reluctant to explore possible solutions yourself when given a starting point or an example. This is surprising and disappointing for someone who is self-taught. Nobody is berating your for a lack of knowledge, only an apparent lack of interest in anything other than a copy-paste solution.

[1]  The fact that the original data comes from curl and sed means that there is almost certainly a much better solution to whatever real problem you are trying to solve than anything in this thread.

I know that you initially posted to help and I get the reactionary anger and frustration, but you need to tone it down. Deserved or not, this is not the ethos that we aim for on this forum. Just file a report and step back next time.
