I've always had this issue since switching to linux some months ago where minecraft (only tried forge 1.8.9, forge 1.12) works fine for a bit, then freezes for some seconds and crashes
After this happens, it won't start again 'till I reopen the session.
Here is a list of all the mods I have installed right now (forge 1.8):
Never happened on lunar client though
Had this issue both on manjaro KDE (on both this HP laptop, which is currently running arch, and my brother's) and on Arch (only on the HP one), so both arch based distributions, using both xorg and wayland
Also happened on both KDE and i3-gaps
I haven't found any useful info in the logs and minecraft doesn't appear to create any crash reports (~/.minecraft/crashreports)

If this happened to you and/or you have an idea on a possible fix, please let me know, would be really appreciated, even though I know this is not the best place to ask for.

managed to apparenrly fix it by disabling the labymod-discord integration
