[SOLVED]pacman stopped updating current&extra

Hi there.

This morning i configured pacman to get through the proxy here (with authentication). I used wget for that and edited wgetrc by adding the proxy information. Im just telling this, because i dont know if this has something to do with my odd pacman problem here.

after that i wanted to do a pacman -Syu. When i do that everythings looks fine, proxy-auth is working and it says that the files are downloaded. But he doesnt load them, they are instantly finished and still the old ones i had before. I tried it out by adding the community repo. This one is normally downloaded and updatedt, but the information in current&extra are still the old ones. I tried also to delete the current&extra folders in /var/lib/pacman and then do an update again, but nothings changes. The folders are again created but stay empty.
Any hints on this problems? i havent found anything in the search and i would like to update my system here, because i need those tools to set up WPA-PSK for my WLAN Adapter.

here is what i get when doing pacman -Sy:

[root@sparkymobile /]# pacman -Sy

The progress bar for current&extra still look like i wasnt using wget and the reading of --.-- K/s is strange i think.

Re: [SOLVED]pacman stopped updating current&extra

--.-- K/s just means the file finished downloading before wget got enough data/time to calculate how fast it is going.

Try a different mirror, could just be a corrupt mirror you are using just now.

Re: [SOLVED]pacman stopped updating current&extra

The current.db.tar.gz and extra.db.tar.gz are downloaded from the proxy's cache. I'm using a caching proxy on my router and I get the same behaviour. It's not wrong, you know: you already have the latest version.

As soon as an update is available, the proxy will notice and download it for you instead of handing you the cached files. At least, that's how it works with my setup.

Re: [SOLVED]pacman stopped updating current&extra

Sorry FUBAR, but that was definatley(sp?) not the actual version, because i have installed the system quiet a while ago. Although the second suggestion of yours is prolly right, cause it is a caching proxy.

chris was guessing right, it was a wrong mirror. I just changed the mirror and now the lists have been updatet and Sysupgrade worked as it should...Problem solved, thanks guys.
