Re: [SOLVED]Display after update stuck at 60hz

Gnome is probably using Wayland, not Xorg.  Are you forcing Gnome on to Xorg?  If not x-server-settings is not going to be fruitful.

Re: [SOLVED]Display after update stuck at 60hz

Like ewaller I probably misinterpreted the conditions expressed in your OP - and no, that's not a WM problem.
Please post your xorg log.

Is this a https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Variable_refresh_rate output?

Re: [SOLVED]Display after update stuck at 60hz

Feeding the EDID into http://www.edidreader.com/ gets you

Detailed Timing Descriptor
Pixel Clock: 282.7MHz
Horizontal Active: 2560
Horizontal Blanking: 160
Vertical Active: 1600
Vertical Blanking: 132
Horizontal Sync Offset: 48
Horizontal Sync Pulse: 32
Vertical Sync Offset: 3
Vertical Sync Pulse: 6
Horizontal Display Size: 345
Vertical Display Size: 215
Horizontal Border: 0
Vertical Border: 0
Interlaced: false
Stereo Mode: 0
Sync Type: 3

2560x1600 at a 282.7MHz pclk matches 60Hz - where did you get the idea that the panel can operate at higher frequencies?

Re: [SOLVED]Display after update stuck at 60hz

Try the LTS kernel - but from that EDID, xorg won't offer you higher frequencies.

Re: [SOLVED]Display after update stuck at 60hz

The edid shows 60-165 Hz as a bare limit and there is a "DisplayID Extension Block" that shows a mode with 165Hz.

It proves that the online decover is unreliable.

@progandy, I'm not blind, am I?
The online parser omits the second block? (Though I just installed edid-decode smile

@Tech-Man
What did you update to cause the failure?
In case the LTS kernel doesn't help and since this is an optimus system, did you maybe change the primary GPU?

That online parser seems to be missing support for the DisplayID extension, you are not blind roll

Re: [SOLVED]Display after update stuck at 60hz

The nvidia driver should not matter since the output is on the intel chip, so try the LTS kernel (you'll also want to install nvidia-lts to be able to use the chip regardless of the output situation)

Re: [SOLVED]Display after update stuck at 60hz

wait it works now do you know why the new kernel broke my display
but when i test it using https://www.testufo.com/refreshrate and https://www.displayhz.com/ it gives me 60hz
but when i use https://devicetests.com/refresh-rate-test it gives me about 183~hz

Re: [SOLVED]Display after update stuck at 60hz

The relevant data is first and foremost "xrandr -q" and the xorg log, the test thingies will measure the swap interval which is influenced by the browser and the compositor.
