Multiple connections to my VPN router and to my NAS

Hello!

I monitor my Internet traffic with iftop. I use a VPN (from Mullvad) and have a Synology NAS connected to my router. I don't know if it matters, but I also use ufw (to be sure that no traffic is allowed outside of my VPN).

Here's what iftop says:

MYPC                => 185.60.184.033
                    <=
_gateway            => all-systems.mcast.net
                    <=
192.168.1.255       => 192.168.1.127
                    <=
192.168.1.23        => 185.60.184.033
                    <=
192.168.1.1         => 224.0.0.1
                    <=

"MYPC" is my hostname, obviously; "185.60.184.033" is the IP address of my VPN server; "192.168.1.23" is my local IP address; and "192.168.1.127" is the local address of my NAS. I don't know what "224.0.0.1" is.

I didn't expect so many connections, and would be glad if someone could explain why they occur; specifically:

1. Is it normal that, doing absolutely nothing (no browser or any program opened), my computer shows a constant connection with my VPN? (lines 1 and 4: "MYPC => 185.60.184.033" and "192.168.1.23 => 185.60.184.033")

2. Since my NAS is only connected to my router (not to my computer) and is NOT mounted on my computer, is it normal that I see regular connections to it? Could it be because of a bad samba configuration?

3. What are those connections to "all-systems.mcast.net" and to "224.0.0.1"? Are they expected?
