So, shortly, xset s activate works but xset led off doesnt. I can edit brightness for legs from /sys directory and it works, and since I dont know what xset led modifies then I really don't know how to troubleshoot or patch it myself. Lurking until 5 am also didn't fetch me anything right now but how to fix authority errors.
Also, no authority errors, checked it.
I am using Macbook 14,1 if it helps.

You didn't explain what you expect to work here - "xset s" controls the screensaver, "xset led" the keyboard LEDs - if you're looking for backlight control see https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Backlight and maybe xbackilght?

I am expecting "xset led" to turn keyboard leds on and off, xbacklight changes screen brightness as intended.
EDIT: xset s technically does work, but screensaver turns off a second after it turns on.

These things are unrelated, for the screensaver it's relevant whether and what screensaver is configured and whether it actually listens to xss. Otherwise it's a red herring to the keyboard situation - I assume you also mean the illumination and not the caps/numlock/scroll led?
xset wil probably not do that, https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Mac#Keyboard_backlight (it does for some keyboards, which use the same interface that drives the status leds for the backlight, but not for macbooks)
