"alsamixer -c 1" gets you a nice GUI, try switchign stuff on/off (dmic and mic boost sound promising) and see whether any of that impacts the mic led…

Well, using the button now turns on and off channel dmic0. Interesting that the control is now over the digital microphone, which I'm assuming abstracts the physical device into a single channel.
Unfortunately, nothing there does anything to the LED.

Hi Again, Seth.
I was nearly ready to write this bug off as solved and give up on the LED for now, but I discovered something to my consternation.
On Wayland, the fix for the key doesn't seem to work at all.
Lord help me, I do not know why that would be.
