gdisk

hi,

i was wondering why my gnome disk utility, which shows "FREE SPACE," for both my hdd & sdd doesn't match the gdisk data, which is clearly showing a "PROTECTED" MBR & GPT "PRESENT" for both of them,

I was also wondering if it's advisable to delete/remove them, in an effort to install arch linux to either or both of these drives and NEVER use Windows ever again!

Re: gdisk

I don't think there's any conflict with that. Gnome is just showing how much free space you got and gdisk is showing the filesystem signatures of the drive when it was formatted. If you want to install from the beginning to a a clean, raw disk, you can use wipefs to remove the signatures. You can then reformat them to use as you wish - install Linux or Windows. It is all up to you.
