xinit: unable to connect to X server: Connection refused

Hi, I ran a pacman -Syyu last night, and immediately shutdown my pc after. I now am unable to start my display manager or X.

startx returns this error:
EE) (EE) Server terminated with error (1). Closing log file.ck the log file at “/var/log/Xorg.0.log” for additional information

xinit: giving up
xinit: unable to connect to X server: Connection refused
xinit: server error

lsmod | grep nvidia
pacman -Qs 'linux|nvidia'
uname -a

https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/NVIDIA … de_setting but there're also recent issues w/ DKMS and the toolchain update because the out-of-tree build fails if the kernel was built w/ a different toolchain.
