gnome 2.16 & battery power

I installed gnome 2.16 from testing and everything is working fine except for the fact that gnome reads the power from my laptop battery wierd. It only reports how much battery life is left in incriments of 25%. When I cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT1/state it lists how much of a charge in mAh is left, so it doesn't appear to be an acpi issue.

Just to rephrase, gnome will only report battery charge as 0%, 25%, 50% or 100%. This is both the panel applet and the power manager that pops up in the notification area. Any ides on what to do?

Re: gnome 2.16 & battery power

*bump* the gnome 2.14 power manager reads the batter status just fine, so it is something with 2.16. should I open a bug? Is that what I should have done in the first place? I've used linux for a while now but never actually participated...

Dont know the answer to your problem, but I have a comment regarding bugreports.

If you are pretty shure its a bug, report it. If you may think you are doing something wrong, ask on the forum (or irc). It is of great help for the developers to get good bugreports, but undetailed bugreports or even false one just wastes their time. So if you know of something that is wrong you should report it so it get fixed as soon as possible, it is an easy and very useful way of contributing.
