I've been reading alot about Arch linux lately and can't wait to try it out, however I have a question before I start.
How do I choose Reiserfs as my filesystem during the auto-partition phase of the install, or do I need to manually partition and setup the filesystem?
I know that redhat, fedora and others at the boot: prompt you just type linux reiserfs but I haven't tried it yet with Arch linux.
Thanks!

i think you need to do it manually. i'm not sure, haven't done it automatically.
imho reiser is the best choice.

Reiserfs is listed as a choice for filesystem types when you select prepare hard drives in the /arch/setup script. First you select a mount point then you should be prompted for the filesystem type.

I've had two file system meltdowns with Reiserfs
one on kernel 2.4.9
the other on 2.4.20
but a sucker for punishment I still use it as long as I have another distro that can file check reiserfs when it chokes on bootup
had ext3 meltdown as well, but was able to partially recover it to ext2
if I toy around with temporary distros on a hard drive I choose ext2 because good old Partition Magic can resize ext2.
Off to using Peanut and Slackware, no hard feelings but I need my CD to burn, PDA and scanner to connect and arch won't do it.
