USB Drive - Lost all capacity

Hi all!!

It's been a while since the last itme that I was here, but you've always helped me, so....I'll try again.

I know is a very common problem to lost an usb drive capacity, for example when you use it with DD to install an ISO image, but...it's not the case.

My father has a 8GB usb drive that he normally uses with music in Windows. I have no idea what he did but now it has only 4 MB of capacity. I've been searching on the internet but almost everything I found is about restoring it using DD, something like:

dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdx bs=512 count=1

Or just this to overwrite the entire disk:

dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdx

The output of this is:

dd: escribiendo en '/dev/sdc': No queda espacio en el dispositivo
8193+0 registros leídos
8192+0 registros escritos
4194304 bytes (4,2 MB, 4,0 MiB) copied, 1,26164 s, 3,3 MB/s

None have worked so far. I've also tried diskpart in Windows and some other applications. fdisk neither.

Gparted shows like this:

Do you have any other ideas that I could try?

Thanks in advance!

Sat on it? ;-)

This looks a lot like the keys firmware got fried (probably the most common death of these things, comes with age - your dad is likely innocent)
If you google the exact brand you might be able to find firmware flashers of questionable provenance, but typically those keys are dead and even if you can flash-revive it, you're likely to face the same situation next week - esp. if it has been only readable before.
Since it doesn't sound like there's valuable data on it, it's time for your dad to get a shiny new 64GB thumbdrive that can store even more porn music.
