Hi,

Anyone know a way to get videos on an ipod ?

/me does not want to load windows *shivers

I haven't tried this, but I've read it can be done via amarok if you browse to the file and chose to add it to your playlist.  Supposedly gtkpod can do a better job at this, but may require some recompiling.  I don't use gtk pod, and I don't have an iPod video so I can't confirm either scenario.  Kind of useless, I realise, but it's what I've got.

Yes you are right gtkpod should do the trick ;-)

No I would not have bought an iPod but tried three other mplayers all good but they did not like Linux lol

You shouldn't have to change the file extension - I've created a few dozen mp4s for my wife's ipod, and they all work fine with that extension.  Obviously .movs work too, but you'd need to encode them as quicktime files - I think x264 does this, but I have had limited success with ffmpeg and x264.  Avi is no good, though.

Yeah thats what the problem was I stuck an avi file on it & its not going to work ....
