Hi all
I use paraview and vtk. This means, i have to install both at the same time, but this is not possible as one conflicts with the other.
I know there is an AUR package called 'paraview-opt'. And this workes perfectly. But compiling Paraview allways takes a long time and the fact that this package is often out of date and thus the build fails after ~1h is a big pain.
I have the ability to update and fix the 'paraview-opt' package myself. But it is allways a time-consuming ordeal.
Would it be possible to setup the community package 'praview' in such a way that it does not conflict with vtk?
Thanks
David

It can easily be changed in the community package but the maintainer has no interest in doing so.

You can find a precompiled version of paraview-opt in the following unofficial repository:

Thank you!

Apparently, the official package now installs to /opt/ and does not conflict with vtk anymore. Awesome!
It is only in 'community-testing' for now https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/61594, but seems to work so far.
