Re: wireplumber doesn't work after update

Works fine here, reads like a (no longer) valid configuration on your part, look at that file and compare it with distribution defaults/check for unhandled pacnews.

What file? I didn't make any configurations

Re: wireplumber doesn't work after update

policy-bluetooth.lua as mentioned in the error message, by default under /usr/share/wireplumber/bluetooth.lua.d/50-bluez-config.lua or /etc/wireplumber if you did indeed make custom configuration.

FWIW while I can't repro at all a quick googler suggests there's a potential issue when doing VT switches that leads to this error: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/pipewire … issues/193

Re: wireplumber doesn't work after update

I've removed the /usr/share/wireplumber/bluetooth.lua.d/50-bluez-config.lua  file.
The [string "policy-bluetooth.lua"] error disappeared
But it still doesn't work

UPDATE: the error is back

Re: wireplumber doesn't work after update

You shouldn't remove the file outright, but check whether it's different from the defaults. FWIW see my link, should be fixed with the next release eventually.

Re: wireplumber doesn't work after update

install the wireplumber package, if it doesn't create .pacnews the defaults will be whatever's in /usr/share/wireplumber/bluetooth.lua.d/50-bluez-config.lua  but as I linked in the previous post there might be an actual bug here .though I'm still somewhat stumped seeing how few people seem to run into it and under which conditions.

Are you running something already setting up a bluetooth device on login perhaps? e.g. do you use GDM or so?

Re: wireplumber doesn't work after update

i've updated to 0.4.9-1
there is no "policy-bluetooth.lua" error anymore but i sill get " Failed to set scheduler settings: Operation not permitted" message
audio still doesn't work
i can't use 0.4.5-2 with  kernel 5.17 because of telegram app doesn't work with it

UPDATE
it works if I change profile to "analog stereo duplex (unavalable)"  but sometimes sound stops working and I have to restart wireplumber.service

Re: wireplumber doesn't work after update

Check if there are any config files that could override the defaults. If so, delete them. Empty folders are ok.

$ find ~/.config/pipewire /etc/pipewire -type f

This should help:
