[Solved] Application menu not disappearing on clicking elsewhere

Hi,
I just installed Arch Linux and also installed KDE Plasma as my  desktop environment. I used the command:

pacman -S xorg plasma plasma-wayland-session

After this, I also installed a lot of apps like Firefox, Dolphin, Kate, Okular etc...
Everything is fine except for one major glitch. From the very moment I logged in the Plasma desktop, I noticed that my ¨Application Menu¨ is behaving rather oddly.
When I click on it, it pops up the application groups (as expected). At this stage, if I click on any place outside the Application Menu, it disappears (again as expected). If I pause my mouse pointer on any one of the groups, it opens the list of installed applications (as expected) and at this stage, if I quickly move my pointer and click on any place outside the Application Menu, it disappears (again as expected).
What is unexpected (and undesirable) is that if I open the list of installed applications, point my pointer on any one of the installed applications but do not click on it (or do not move my pointer over and out of the list of applications quick enough) and then move the pointer away from the Application Menu and click on any place outside, the Application Menu stays put and does not disappear. It stays put wherever or on whichever window I click on. If I bring the pointer back to the Application Menu on a different application group then the list of installed applications disappears and reveals a new list of installed applications. If at this stage I quickly move my pointer and click on any place outside the Application Menu then the list of applications disappear but the Application Menu stays put and does not disappear until I click on the Application Menu icon on the panel. Can anyone direct me to fix this issue?
The observed behaviour happens only for Application Menu but not for Application Launcher or Application Dashboard.
Any help is welcome.

Thank you very much for your reply. I have filed an upstream bug report. Also your indication about whether the problem occurs in x11 or wayland is an excellent suggestion. I was running wayland and the problem disappeared in x11. For now, I am sticking with x11...
