Hi all,
I have installed Arch in the past to desktops and a Surface Pro 4 before with little issue. I got a Framework laptop a few days ago and have struggled to get the wireless working. I used archinstall for this install, as a heads-up. A summary of the issue with journalctl logs to accompany each scenario:
1. When the wireless card is attached physically/enabled in BIOS and NetworkManager is enabled, the kernel will panic either before I get to a desktop or shortly after. http://ix.io/3Rwp
This has been the case across multiple distros including Arch-derivatives -- I was only able to install Arch because the live disk doesn't use NetworkManager and I used my phone to tether internet over USB. iwctl was able to get a working connection a few times in the Arch live disk.
2. When the wireless card is attached physically/enabled in BIOS and NetworkManager is not enabled, the system will boot normally with no network access. The kernel will panic almost immediately after doing
sudo systemctl start NetworkManager3. No kernel panic occurs when the wireless card is either physically detached or disabled in BIOS. NetworkManager runs without an issue with a USB tether. http://ix.io/3Rws
I have tried downgrading my kernel and firmware packages to confirmed working versions but none of these have worked. I thought I might have some sort of hardware issue, but the Ubuntu 21.10 live disk was able to boot and get wireless without an issue.
I've been through multiple support channels, including trying to get a replacement AX210 from Framework, and so far I don't have functioning wireless. Been banging my head against the desk for days now. Appreciate any help the forum can provide. My system is currently up-to-date on 5.16.12.

The journals show no trace of the problem since the panic will prevent the journals from being synced to disk.
Wild guess: disable https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Networ … domization and/or try https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Networ … Fi_backend

Tried both in combination and separate -- no dice unfortunately.

You'll have to go for https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Kdump in order to obtain a backtrace - unless you get a console message (that you could in doubt make a photo of)
