Suspicious behavior from mpv

Hello,

I'm using AMD Ryzen 7 2700X Eight-Core Processor.
The routine temperature is around ~40°C.

However, mpv spawns itself in the background, even after I've executed "killall mpv".
Each mpv process takes exactly 6.25% of CPU power.
Machine temperature goes up and above 70°C.

I'm experiencing this behavior for several months.
Last week, I've removed mpv.

Please advise.
Thanks.

Re: Suspicious behavior from mpv

Does any of the mpv instances play anything?
Do they have parameters?
Output of "type mpv"? (You could get that if you've /usr/local/bin/mpv being a script that runs "mpv --foobar $@" because mpv is now self referencing)

Though you seem to have 1 process per HT core (16) - any parallelizing attempts in your mpv config?
