Control fan with nbfc-linux

Hello,

I can't control my fans using pwmconfig and I was told nbfc-linux might solve my issue. https://github.com/nbfc-linux/nbfc-linux
However, if I try to use it my cursor turns into a plus (I use XFCE) and then I click fives times on the desktop and I get this error:

 /usr/bin/nbfc: line 21: syntax error near unexpected token `('
/usr/bin/nbfc: line 21: `def check_root():'
