20 years of Arch Linux!

The first release of arch 0.1 Homer was published on a day like today in 2002! As posted by a Reddit user on https://www.reddit.com/r/archlinux/comm … rch_linux/

Here's the official post of that time https://archlinux.org/retro/2002/.

So, are we in a position to say happy 20th birthday Arch Linux?

Thanks to all the developers, teams and community for making one of the most beautiful distros possible!

Cheers!

Happy Birthday Arch! After all these years you still manage to prevent me from distro hopping!

Re: 20 years of Arch Linux!

Just came here to wish happy birthday to the developers and the maintainers of the distribution. I've been using it for months and it's a great experience smile

So, Arch shares its birthday with Douglas Adams?

I'm going to buy a cupcake and 20 candles on my way home from work later smile

Thanks to everyone that's ever contributed to this fine distro.

Make sure you spell out “20” with the candles so if anyone asks you how old Arch is, you can promptly respond with “Read the Fine Candles”. smile

Happy Birthday, Arch!

All the best,

Re: 20 years of Arch Linux!

Two weeks ago when I heard about Arch's birthday in this month of March. The best gift that apeiro always appreciated was the user contributions. Not just to Arch but also to Linux in general. So, I did a hurry-up to wrap up my last major gift as a user contribution. When I say last, I noticed that my memory capacity for coding/scripting is no longer the same as before. The coding of the Extension Installer was quite a challenge. So, once more.... happy birthday with this gift.

https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 6#p2028756

I wish that the user contributions will continue in Arch by the users upholding the uniqueness of Arch Linux.
