[SOLVED] 'You are using an unsupported Qt style'

My VLC bug[0] report was closed by Antonio Rojas (arojas) with the message 'You are using an unsupported Qt style'.  I know nothing about Qt styles.  I am a gnome user and only have Qt app when I have no other option.  I have no idea how I would be using anything other than the default Qt style pacman gives me.  Any help would be appreciated.

$ vlc
VLC media player 3.0.17.3 Vetinari (revision 3.0.13-8-g41878ff4f2)
[0000562cbb351580] main libvlc: Running vlc with the default interface. Use 'cvlc' to use vlc without interface.
Cannot mix incompatible Qt library (5.15.2) with this library (5.15.3)
Aborted (core dumped)

Re: [SOLVED] 'You are using an unsupported Qt style'

pacman wouldn't install qt 5.15.2 components... unless you are doing partial upgrades.

What qt packages do you have installed (`pacman -Qs qt5`)?  Is your system up to date?

Re: [SOLVED] 'You are using an unsupported Qt style'

I just updated.  After the update is when VLC started crashing.

I only have 3 packages installed locally that don't depend on Qt.

$ pacman -Qm
chrome-gnome-shell 10.1-6
google-chrome 98.0.4758.102-1
pikaur 1.10.1-1

As far as I know, anything Qt should just be default and pulled in as a dependency of something like VLC.

Re: [SOLVED] 'You are using an unsupported Qt style'

I was really needing VLC this morning.  Since arojas seemed confident the problem was external to VLC, I renamed my home directory and created a new one.  I logged into gnome and vlc worked fine.  It is a bit of a pain, but I'll just copy over the files and config files I need and deleted the old home directory.

Aroja and Trilby, I appreciate your help.

Re: [SOLVED] 'You are using an unsupported Qt style'

Or you could just remove the config file that invokes an unsupported qt style!

Re: [SOLVED] 'You are using an unsupported Qt style'

I ran a recursive find and deleted anything with the string 'qt' in the file name to no avail.

Re: [SOLVED] 'You are using an unsupported Qt style'

When you copy your configs over to the new user, you'll end up with the same problem.  So one way or another you'll have to identify the offending config file.

Re: [SOLVED] 'You are using an unsupported Qt style'

Trilby, VLC is working great.  I only copied over what I needed.
