I mistakenly flagged an arch package out of date

I mistakenly flagged an arch package out of date while it was up to date. What should I do, if anything, to undo it?

Not worry about it too much, the maintainer can/will eventually clear it

Re: I mistakenly flagged an arch package out of date

Good news: not much harm has been done. In the worst case the maintainer will be confused for a moment, but causing even that much disruption is unlikely. In practice marking packages out of date seems to be more useful as a tension release mechanism for the users than actual notification system for maintainers. So the latter do not pay as much attention to that as you are fearing they do.

You may contact the maintainer directly to explain the situation. Their emails or IRC nicks are usually available in the PKGBUILD or on the Arch website. But that is more to clean your name than prevent any real disaster.

Sometimes I seem a bit harsh — don’t get offended too easily!

Well, i guess its fine but i feel bad for uselessly adding extra work to maintaine. I just wish there was a way to contact him to clear the matter and reduce inconvenience

Thanks for suggestion. I will look for the email in there and contact the maintainer
