Arch Linux installed SSD not detecting in bios

So I installed Arch Linux some weeks ago on my external SSD. All partitions did without any problem and it was working absolutely fine until yesterday.
On startup, I select the boot device which was something like "Samsung PSSD UEFI..." but now this option is no longer visible. I haven't done anything that would lead to such behaviour. On checking the partitions, everything seems to be normal.

Re: Arch Linux installed SSD not detecting in bios

PS: The efi file is still there. Everything is as same as it used to be.

Re: Arch Linux installed SSD not detecting in bios

For this kind of entry to work you'd have to have a populated fallback https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Unifie … ble_drives is *that* still there? Since this is the fallback path it's hotly contested and Windows will replace it on updates. So I'd assume it likely that Windows placed it's own loader there and overwrote the original fallback path.

Re: Arch Linux installed SSD not detecting in bios

@V1del Thank you so much for helping me find the solution.
Well while trying to follow the steps you mentioned, I was doing some searching before I step into UEFI console, as I didn't want to end up with a greater mess as a newbie. I got acommand on an online forum to type in windows:

bcdboot c:\windows

.
Then on startup, there came an option "Boot from EFI". Selected it, and navigated to "grubx64.efi" and the grub menu started and so did the arch.

Thanks again.

Re: Arch Linux installed SSD not detecting in bios

That does not really fix things and you'll have to run that command every time you boot, no?, set up an actual proper entry for GRUB by installing it correctly: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/GRUB#Installation_2 if you use the command in code tags there you should have an entry that's actually called GRUB you can boot that will/should remain even on Windows updates. If it is not allocated or doesn't remain you have a weird UEFI setup, which mainboard is this?
