Strange behaviour with udisks.

Entering the passphrase for a luks Partition automatically prompts a polkit window to enter the sudo password for mounting and the id is 'udisks-mount' something.
Sometimes it prompts for the password, sometimes it doesnt. Of course, the luks Passphrase has to be entered but previously I did not need to enter any sort of password just for mounting the drive. This behaviour only happens when mounting luks drives, normal unencrypted drives do not have this problem.
Also, one thing to be noted,
mkfs.ext4   /dev/mapper/luks-name
also prompts the gui window to mount the drive, I only wanted to create the filesystem, not mount it right away. This did not happen previously.

Is this the default behaviour for udisks/polkit or is something wrong with my system ?
