[SOLVED] Trackpad Not Detecting Touch Correctly [Thinkpad X1 Yoga]

The trackpad **will not detect if there is only a single finger**. It is detecting 1 finger as 0 touch events (Contact Count: 0). While 2 fingers is detected as 1 touch event, so on and so forth. With hid-recorder used to report all of this.


Using a Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga Gen 6, not sure if it is a driver issue or an issue with the trackpad itself (i hope not).

hid-recorder reports that it is an

ELAN0672:00 04F3:3187

Tested on both kernel 5.15.29-1-lts and 5.16.15.arch1-1. Same behaviour

Nevermind, will keep the fix here for anyone in the future,

try resetting your touchpad through the UEFI (the debugging application which lenovo provides resets the touchpad in the mouse category)
