Gnome 42 and monitor stuck in DPMS mode

Hi everyone,
not being able to google something specific but only similar i need to ask here.

My system:
arch efi fully updated with kernel zen, amd ryzen hardware, nvida dGPU (GTX 970) on proprietary driver.

System s2idle suspend is working well. A lot of information is on google about that, not my case: after suspend my graphic card is functional.

The problem:
after 5 mins (my setting) of idle activity my monitor is switched off by DPMS. well, nvidia driver does not restore (DP) video signal and monitor stay off.
This appens on X and wayland. the keyboard stop respond (caps lock status locked to last state). the keyboard seems to be "controlled" by a mysterious process and not available to the user.
Kernel is running and the system too, using ssh is possible to reboot the machine.
The symptom is present since Gnome 42 installation. Nvidia driver downgraded to 510.54 with same results.
With Gnome 40 all were functional and it was with various versions of nvidia drivers, certainly from 495.46 to 510.60.
Extensions loaded or not is irrelevant.

The logs of the moment:

kernel: nvidia-modeset: ERROR: GPU:0: Display engine push buffer channel allocation failed: 0x65 (Call timed out [NV_ERR_TIMEOUT])
kernel: nvidia-modeset: ERROR: GPU:0: Failed to allocate display engine core DMA push buffer
org.gnome.Shell.desktop[5624]: Failed to setup: No GPUs with outputs found
gnome-session[5616]: gnome-session-binary[5616]: WARNING: App 'org.gnome.Shell.desktop' exited with code 1
gnome-session-binary[5616]: WARNING: App 'org.gnome.Shell.desktop' exited with code 1
gnome-session-binary[5616]: Unrecoverable failure in required component org.gnome.Shell.desktop
/usr/lib/gdm-wayland-session[5615]: dbus-daemon[5615]: [session uid=120 pid=5615] Activating service name='ca.desrt.dconf' requested by ':1.2' (uid=120 pid=5616 comm="/usr/lib/gnome-session-binary --autostart /usr/sha")
/usr/lib/gdm-wayland-session[5615]: dbus-daemon[5615]: [session uid=120 pid=5615] Successfully activated service 'ca.desrt.dconf'
gdm[733]: Gdm: GdmDisplay: Session never registered, failing

Seems that nvidia driver fails and gnome session explodes not finding any usable GPU.

Anyone else?
Any advice?

Re: Gnome 42 and monitor stuck in DPMS mode

A little update:
it happens only on a logged in user environment (a new fresh user too).
On a "simple" GDM screen, waiting for user and password, the monitor shuts down normally and wake up on keyboard interaction...

Re: Gnome 42 and monitor stuck in DPMS mode

I'm also affected by this bug. But at least i can get back to GDM by pressing Ctrl+Alt+F1. Have you tried connecting a different keyboard?

There's this bug on gitlab.gnome.org. It might be related.

Re: Gnome 42 and monitor stuck in DPMS mode

the problem seems to be solved with latest update.
among others, relevant packages are gdm, libgdm and kernel-zen. gdm (and libgdm) is not a full release but an hotfixed one (42.0+r11+g4a52f026-1).
i bet on gdm...
