Hi,
I have a laptop that I connect to an external monitor. Half the day I only use the external monitor while the other half of the day I also use the laptop's screen as the secondary monitor. They're independent two screens, not extended one screen. The problem is that I can't figure out how to have panels on both that don't disappear after I change the screen layout to external screen only. If I simply add a panel while in dual screen mode, KDE won't remember that I had it there and next time I turn the screen on, it doesn't have a panel.
Is there some solution to this that doesn't involve me writing a script to add an configure a new panel every time I'm using both screens? Although I'm not even sure if adding a panel and widgets to it is possible from a Bash script, I only changed the autohide in one script I had so far for my existing panel. I tried searching but found nothing.
I have the "save displays' properties" set to "for any display arrangement" under display settings, but that doesn't even remember which is the primary, only where they are relative to each other.
Edit: So apparently when I switched to two screens today, that panel came back. No idea what's happening but if it stays there now, then it works apparently, just inconsistently. I wonder if the issue was that I ran Arch with the dGPU powered down but usually that's the only one in use, like today.
