gxkb can't switch keyboard layout

Hi, I have been using gxkb to switch keyboard layouts.  It used to work nicely but several months ago (I can't tell which update was the culprit) I can no longer switch the keyboard layouts by clicking on the flag.  It still shows the correct flag, and I can switch the layout from command line with setxkbmap (which of course changes the flag).

Any idea on how to fix this?

You should™ not be using setxkbmap to switch the layout but configure a multi-layout and that's (probably) what gxkb is trying to control, https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Xorg/K … rd_layouts (the page is also full of "cz,us" multi-layout examples which you can adapt accordingly)
