[Solved] Trailing

edit: Changed the title as it had nothing to do with the question

I installed bspwm and sxhkd from pacman, and copied their default configs.
I then installed polybar from AUR using yay, and changed my .xinitrc to startup bspwm, sxhkd, picom and polybar. (before, i was using dwm, dmenu and slstatus)
However, starting X the next time just crashes. Log file attached.
This has happened to me now on two different machines (although they were running a very similar setup beforehand)

Xorg.0.log

FIX: Remove the & at the last line of .xinitrc

Re: [Solved] Trailing

Nothing wrong with X. Remove all the extraneous stuff (polybar/picom) and just try and get a bwspm session running.

Re: [Solved] Trailing

ok well, i think i've found it... this is probably the stupidest thing on this forum but i was putting an & at the last line of my .xinitrc as a habit from programming pretty much all week.
turns out that makes X crash and give no meaningful error. oh well
