ALSA snd_usb_audio : clock source 41 is not valid
ALSA snd_usb_audio : clock source 41 is not valid (Behringer UMC204HD)
Description:
i am trying to make my behringer UMC204HD audio USB interface work with GNULinux
(fresh install on many distro the same issue)
-clock source 41 is not valid, cannot use
-audio "stuttering" every x seconds (depending samplerate/buffersize)
-i can fix audio with implicit_fb=1 to snd_usb_audio
sudo modprobe -r snd_usb_audio
sudo modprobe snd_usb_audio implicit_fb=1

Have you eliminated the USB cable/connectors? I.e., try connecting to the sound card with a freshly bought USB cable.

@Neven : yes, i have test with other USB cable, other computer, old kernel, latest lts from kernel.org, the same error

If that parameter solves the issue, you could apply it at boot by creating a file in /etc/modprobe.d/ .

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky

I am also having the same problem. After executing the following command, I ran
$ speaker-testand now no sound is heard.
# cat <<"EOT"> /etc/modprobe.d/umc204hd.conf
options snd_usb_audio implicit_fb=1
EOT
# rebootI assume it is the same cause as what is being tracked below.

It seems that Mr. Iwai's patch has been incorporated into the kernel.
With modprobe not configured, it now works.
There is no "stuttering" or "silent state".
Kernel release: 5.18.12-arch1-1
