After update to version 42 the gnome control-center window always starts in a maximized state. Is it possible to revert this behavior to what it was in the previous version (41)?

Yeah just make it smaller close it and reopen

Oh, it is even worse. I tested it on another computer with a big screen and it turns out that each time I open gnome-settings window it becomes bigger, which explains why on the smaller laptop screen it appeared maximized.

I cannot replicate. If you run gnome-control-center from a console, what are the messages in the console?

There are no messages when/after I start gnome-control-center from the console. I use Xorg, not wayland, though.

I have exactly the same behaviour with the addition that on my two monitors the gnome-control-center also seems to open randomly on different monitors and not always gets bigger after i sized it down but will eventually after a few tries.

Same here, sometimes it opens maximized, sometimes not - at any random screen and size. What it never does is what I would like it to do: open the same size and position as last time... ![]()
