dbus and KDE 3.5.5

hi guys,
not sure if this is the right place, but i'll try anyway:

since the installation of KDE 3.5.5 from testing i get:
$ ksysguard
ksysguard: error while loading shared libraries: libdbus-1.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

i have the latest dbus etc, so i guess some recompiling needs to be done.

Re: dbus and KDE 3.5.5

I'm also running kde from testing but I dont get that error, I get failed to create avahi client...maybe you should try re-installing dbus?

Re: dbus and KDE 3.5.5

well, i linked /usr/lib/libdbus-1.so to /usr/lib/libdbus-1.so.2 and now it works. but i guess this should be somewhere in a package, or ksysguard shouldn't try to use /usr/lib/libdbus-1.so.2 but /usr/lib/libdbus-1.so.3 instead.

anyway, i get the avahi message as well, now.

Re: dbus and KDE 3.5.5

Please people, do not symlink like this!
The proper way is to make sure that you have the testing dbus packages correctly installed, and then report the packages that failed to start because of this to have them rebuilt against the new dbus.

If it is a package from community or unsupported, rebuild your own.
