Audio doesn't work sometimes

Since a few days, sometimes suddenly audio playback of browsers or music players didn't worked anymore, They just halted. I tried multiple things out and "speaker-test" outputed that after waiting for a while:

speaker-test 1.2.6

Playback device is default
Stream parameters are 48000Hz, S16_LE, 1 channels
Using 16 octaves of pink noise
Rate set to 48000Hz (requested 48000Hz)
Buffer size range from 192 to 2097152
Period size range from 64 to 699051
Using max buffer size 2097152
Periods = 4
ALSA lib pcm_pulse.c:758:(pulse_prepare) PulseAudio: Unable to create stream: Connection terminated

Unable to set hw params for playback: Input/output error
Setting of hwparams failed: Input/output error

This looks like it is an issue with ALSA, but I couldn't find out what causes the issue. I hope you have maybe some ideas!

Thanks in advance

Re: Audio doesn't work sometimes

Same problem for me.
Cannot play audio from player and browser. YouTube doesn't even show the video and crashes on any browser.
The error also causes me problems with kdenlive, when I import clips it crashes due to problems with gstreamer.
The only solution I have found is to go into audio settings and select / deselect my audio interface.
The audio then restarts and everything returns to normal until the next reboot.
