[SOLVED]Missing/Orphaned AUR Packages

After I use yay as a aur package manager every time I run yay -Syu it says

Missing AUR Packages::  kross-interpreters

and I leave it alone every time, but today it says

note that there are more missing packages and there are also missing aur debug packages and Orphaned AUR Packages,

to delete those Orphaned AUR Packages (although i dont even know what they are..)

So I just want to ask what are those? why there suddenly appear? is what I've done safe? and what do I need to do further?

Re: [SOLVED]Missing/Orphaned AUR Packages

I'm not really clear on what you really want to know: none of the errors in the code you posted has anything to do with your thread title.  Your thread title refers to a true statement: yay is reporting a locally installed package that is not in the AUR.  That is not an error - it's just information that yay authors think you might want to know (and you'd have to ask them why that is).

What are they?  They are packages you installed.

Why did they suddenly appear?  What do you mean suddenly?  I'm not familiar with that package, but there's a fair chance it used to be in the AUR but has been removed. (edit: see the next post for the other explanation which appears to be the case for these packages, apparently this was quite a recent move).

What do you need to do further?  Whatever you want.  But my first suggestion would be to stop using yay until you understand how AUR packages work (and at that point you probably will no longer want to use yay).

EDIT: I've revised a few bits that may have had a bit too negative of a tone that should not be directed at you, but at the yay authors.  In any case, depending on yay is leading you to not understand what is happening with packages on your system.  Please stop depending on yay.

Re: [SOLVED]Missing/Orphaned AUR Packages

 -> Orphaned AUR Packages: kipi-plugins libkipi

You installed those packages when they were in the community repository, but they were now dropped to the AUR today. Since there is no maintainer they are listed as orphaned.

If you don't need them, removing them is no problem.
