hi there,
i have created some new artwork based on the background of this kdm theme. It all fits together, so you will get a nice coherent look when installing this set.
Here is a preview:
silent gensplash (just the background)
kdm theme (just the background)
ksplash moodin theme
requirements are:
kdmtheme
ksplash-engine-moodin
initscripts-gensplash
miscsplashutils
gensplashutils
download here:
gensplash
kdm theme
ksplash moodin theme
you can install the kdm and ksplash themes easily from kcontrol. to install the gensplash theme, take a look here
if you want an even nicer transition from kdm to the splash, do the following:
after installing the kdm and ksplash themes, go to your standard kdm settings in kcontrol and use the following picture as background: /opt/kde/share/apps/kdm/themes/archblue-kdm/kdm-background.png

Ummm. I like it. Very nice. Sort of calming.

Could you also add an xpm of the same form as these:
http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?d … =1&ID=2416
That means a 14 color xpm.
From grub bootsplash howto:
To get GIMP to use only a 14 color palette, right click on your file and press ALT+I and put 14 where it says "Generate Optimal Palette:" on the top of the menu. If ALT+I doesn't get you there then right click on the image and go to:
Image-->Mode-->Indexed
Specify you want 14 colors and then if you want (*recommended*) select NO DITHERING. This will tell the gimp not to try to guess colors in between areas. It is also possible that you tell them gimp what colors you want in your 14-color pallete, I actually had to do this for one of my images and I replaced a dark color for a light one.
The GIMP ROCKS!
