I am trying to debug a suspend/wakjeup problem and I get this from my journalctl just before hard-reboot:
Apr 28 15:47:01 taichi-z270 kernel: [drm:drm_new_set_master] *ERROR* [nvidia-drm] [GPU ID 0x00000100] Failed to grab modeset ownership
Could this have a bearing in my wakeup problem (this is suspend to RAM BTW)? Is there a fix?
I'm also getting this message but not sure of its significance:
Apr 28 16:28:29 taichi-z270 sddm-helper[1013]: gkr-pam: unable to locate daemon control file
Thanks in advance.

The gkr message is normal and irrelevant.
For nvidia suspension issues, do you have KMS/modeset on nvidia-drm enabled? You might want to try and set up the modern restoration hooks: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/NVIDIA … er_suspend

Thanks. KMS is enabled on drm. The wakeup problem doesn't happen all the time so then I'll try the modern restoration and then monitor the service.

I haven't had an issue with my wakeup so far after applying the new nvidia restoration hook. I will continue to monitor but I will mark this thread solved for now.
