After upgrade to kernel 5.17, I notice my multimedia keys (fn+F10/F11/F12) is unusable. Checking into log, asus_nb_wmi module is failed to load. I have dualboot with fedora (has a same problem before) which same module is loaded successfully and the multimedia keys is working fine. I'm trying to load the kernel module but it gives me warning like "no such device". The kernel module is exist BTW. The kernel 5.15 LTS works fine, I can assume that there is something wrong with 5.17.
it's really similiar with this https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2079125

The journal is 404, but looks like https://www.spinics.net/lists/platform- … 32359.html

@seth, I fix the journalctl's link and I heard that since I reported the issue to fedora bug report too.

Have you tried building a kernel with https://github.com/torvalds/linux/commi … 435beb5869 cherry-picked to see if it fixes the issue?

@loqs, I would just wait for next kernel release, last time I built kernel my self, it gave me kernel panic. Furthermore, I'm happy enough with the LTS kernel one.

Link to your report on the Arch bug tracker https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/74584
Edit:
Queued for 5.17.6 https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/ke … 2667b52dda
