[SOLVED] Steam crashes on launch and throws me back to login manager

Hey everyone,

as the title says: when launching steam, I got thrown out of dwm back onto my login manager (sddm). I piped steam's output into a textfile but I cannot see any issue with it:

I hope that one of you with more experience can point me in a direction.
I assume that Xorg crashes when I get thrown back to the login screen, right? Howsoever, I consolidate /var/log/Xorg.0.log but cannot see anything special either.

OS: Arch Linux x86_64
Kernel: 5.17.5-arch1-1
WM: dwm
CPU: Intel i5-9600K (6) @ 3.700GHz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER
GPU: Intel CoffeeLake-S GT2 [UHD Graphics 630]
Memory: 15898MiB

I got thrown out of dwm back onto my login manager (sddm)

Means that X11 (or possibly but less likely DWM) crashes - check the xorg.0.log.old after such crash, https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Xorg#General

That was the hint I needed. I quickly installed awesomewm and could run steam flawlessly. As dwm does not come with its own log files and I dont want to go down the rabbithole of hooking it up to gdb, I will switch to awesomewm.
Therefore I consider this case here solved. Thanks for your great tip!
