Hi all,
I was happily running Gnome 41 and had waited until today to upgrade to Gnome 42, I wanted extensions to catch up. Now when the system boots I get the "Something Went Wrong" white screen.
I can disable GDM, enable Lighdm and login fine by choosing Cinnamon, but GDM and Gnome 42 fail.
I would like to find out why I can't get Gnome 42 to run. Looking at the /var/log/pacman.log shows no apparent issues with the upgrade.
Does anyone have any tips on how to troubleshoot this?
I have tried both Wayland and X11 sessions.
Does X run GDM then Gnome-session then Gnome-shell or how does this all work and how to troubleshoot it?
Any help much appreciated.

Ok looks like package js91 was missing. Why is this not a dependency on gnome-shell?
Also the gsettings key org.gnome.desktop.privacy-screen was missing had to re-install gsettings-desktop-schemas.. wierd
Also gnome-shell was failing on these why the f..ing you know what, do we get a useless white screen, for the love of everything holy Gnome folks, throw us a bone here when it tanks and spit out these failures as a clue.
