Installed arch with dracut and bootctl - issues with kernel updates

Hello everyone!

So: I installed Arch using this guide, and almost every time there is a kernel update a lot of my modules seem to stop working. I'm also not fully booting into the updated kernel, which probably is the cause of some modules being freaked out. This occurs even if I reboot the second the update is done.

The only workaround I've found is to boot from USB, chroot, regenerate kernel images and run bootctl install again. I've done it to the point that my boot partition got full and I needed to clear it and install again. These commands are not, at least to my limited knowledge, possible to run during normal boot.

Is my install messed up somehow, or is there a way to (with the help of something like pacman hooks) solve the issue?

Thank you in advance.

Re: Installed arch with dracut and bootctl - issues with kernel updates

If you follow somebody's installation guide and run into issues, I am afraid you are pretty much on your own. This may be a good starting point: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Dracut, in particular the section on regenerating the initramfs on kernel upgrades.
