No video playback in any browser: where to start?

Since today no browser among chromium, vivaldi, firefox and falkon can play (youtube/vimeo) videos any more.
mvp can, though, given the exact (youtube) URL.
firefox and falkon didn't get an update.
Is there any hint at where to start from?

I see you have wireplumber in the list, did that automatically replace pipewire-media-session recently on your system? A lot of people are having issues because it can't seem to co-exist with pulse, so you either need to go back to pipewire-media-session or switch to pipewire completely.

I had the exact same problem, except that mpv also cannot play neither video nor audio (I didn't check if it could play YouTube). Specifically, iirc it signaled a warning similar to

the stream is suspended. bailing out

.

In my case, removing pulseaudio-alsa (with pacman -Rns) allows mpv to play audio and videos, but I still have troubles with YouTube, and mpv still reports

[ao/pulse] The stream is suspended. Bailing out.
AO: [alsa] 44100Hz stereo 2ch float

(when playing audio)

[ao/pulse] The stream is suspended. Bailing out.
AO: [alsa] 44100Hz stereo 2ch float
VO: [gpu] 1080x1920 yuv420p

(when playing video)

Hope this helps.

EDIT

Also, installing pipewire-pulse (and, when prompted by pacman, removing pulseaudio and pulseaudio-bluetooth), also seems to have fixed all the other problems (YouTube, mpv error message, system settings, microphone)

Removing wireplumber did the magics for me.

I ran into this as well. Based on the comments in this bug report, I installed pipewire-pulse and pipewire-alsa. It replaces pulseaudio and does the trick for me.

same issue. I uninstall wireplumber and install pipewire-media-session then web video works.
