VMWare Server from AUR freezing

So I downloaded and installed the VMWare Package from the AUR. It loads without problems, but when I try to connect to the local host in the initial dialog box, the program freezes completely. There were no errors during the configuration, so I don't know what's going on.

Re: VMWare Server from AUR freezing

vmware-authd uses tcp-wrappers...so...
make sure you add the following to hosts.allow

vmware-authd: 127.0.

Unless you have hosts.allow populated with

ALL: 127.0.

Which I do... then the previous line is not needed for localhost connectivity.

Hope that helps.

Alas, that does not fix the problem.

Re: VMWare Server from AUR freezing

check the vmware logfiles. make sure that vmware server is actually running, and that there are no errors in the logs.

Re: VMWare Server from AUR freezing

Where is it? I find a vmware folder in /var/log, but it's empty.

Re: VMWare Server from AUR freezing

it shouldn't be empty..hmm...
you installed vmware-server, ran the configuration script, and then started the daemon?

Re: VMWare Server from AUR freezing

Let's see: I added it to Pacman, put the vmware daemon in my rc.conf, restarted and ran /usr/bin/vmware-config.pl/
