[SOLVED] Boot Device not Found new laptop with nvme drive

Hi and thank you for reading.

I've been using Arch for around 3 weeks on an old laptop with a sdd drive and have really enjoyed the experience. Today I bought a new HP laptop with an NVME drive.

I followed the same install procedure that I used previously but updated /dev/sda to /dev/nvme where appropriate however after installing grub and rebooting I am faced with a Splash screen from HP Boot Device not Found please install an operating system on your hard drive.

I tried another linux distro called Garuda linux that is Arch based and had the same issue.

Then I tried Ubuntu and it worked. So I must be doing something wrong setting up the boot partitions or the boot loader. Weirdly after installing Ubuntu I could install Garuda and wipe of Ubuntu and Garuda would then work. So I tried Arch again and it wouldn't boot. For some reason reinstalling Ubuntu worked and then replacing Ubuntu again with Garruda worked.

It's driving me crazy (well more crazy)

I've tried reading the Grub section of the Arch wiki and LinuxJourney.org but I'm lost

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
