Cannot execute desktop environment (Linux Hardened)

Hi,

Just finished an Arch install, and I cannot boot into my desktop environment using 'exec' from the tty.

I think it has something to do with logind, because when I try to reboot using the 'reboot' command, a series of error messages occur, and one of them is about me not having access to 'logind'. All of the error messages are an 'Access denied' error.

I suspect it has something to do with the default configuration of the 'linux-hardened' kernel, because it worked on the vanilla kernel.

Any help is appreciated.

Re: Cannot execute desktop environment (Linux Hardened)

What is using exec?  Please post the command you are using and any output it produces.  If it is .xinitrc please post the contents of the whole file.
Please also post the contents of the system journal for a boot with the issue and Xorg.log assuming it is X that is in use.
Is the session broken?

By using 'exec', I mean running 'exec sway' to execute the 'sway' desktop environment. It fails and kicks me out back to the tty login screen.

I'll post logs in a second. From what I can remember, as I said earlier, when running the 'reboot' command, it says, 'failed to set wall: Access denied, failed to start reboot via logind: Access denied'. BTW, I am using Wayland.

Found out I didn't enable seat / seatd, because I thought polkit was installed. It is required to execute sway. You can close this topic.
