errors.log

I was looking at my errors.log and i got the following messages:

Oct 22 18:58:48 ghostwheel PCI: BIOS Bug: MCFG area at f0000000 is not E820-reserved
Oct 22 18:58:48 ghostwheel PCI: Not using MMCONFIG.
Oct 22 18:58:48 ghostwheel PCI: Failed to allocate mem resource #6:20000@90000000 for 0000:01:00.0
Oct 22 18:58:48 ghostwheel ACPI: Getting cpuindex for acpiid 0x3
Oct 22 18:58:48 ghostwheel ACPI: Getting cpuindex for acpiid 0x4

I'm running a Core2 Duo cpu with acpi turned on motherboard, DDR2 memory.

How can I fix this?

Re: errors.log

Are you noticing some type of performance problem?  Is there a specific time it happens?  You're post seems bit vague.

Re: errors.log

I didn't find any visible problem, but i was curious about the messsage. I'd like to know if it's some sort of configuration error.

I don't what information would be useful, but i can supply anything, if needed.

Thank you, anyway.

Re: errors.log

Hmm a couple things.  Do you have acpid and acpi installed?

Also, try doing a

pacman -Syu

and see if theres any updates needed.

Finally, you could try some things listed here. https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+s … +bug/58489

It looks like there may be some 'nommconf' option that might help.

Re: errors.log

Both acpi and acpid are up to date. But acpid is not running. Should I habilitate it in rc.conf or mkinitcpio.conf?
