Re: Arch freezes randomly

If installed remove xf86-video-intel. Other than that some errors on the hard disk, run a long SMART test on /dev/sda and post the result after the elapsed time with

smartctl -a /dev/sda

Re: Arch freezes randomly

The values itself look ok to me, but the errors and the fact it even had a read failure when doing the explicit test are somewhat worrying, best bet it was just something temporary, or maybe check whether the cable became loose/isn't properly plugged in or so.

I'd personally remove xf86-video-intel (and xorg configs created for it) and check whether that's sufficient to get rid of the freezes, otherwise look into potentially having to replace the drive/make sure you have backups.

Re: Arch freezes randomly

I made same tests to my HDD, and I also thinks that it's ok.

What's wrong with xf86-video-intel? Could that be the cause of the system crashes?

Re: Arch freezes randomly

Define system crashes. What do you do when it freezes? There's nothing in that log suggesting system failure aside from the drive errors, and xf86-video-intel is simply not well maintained and know for a variety of bugs that can lead to the graphical xorg session freezing (check whether you can switch the VT with e.g. Ctrl+Alt+F3)

You might also want to do an fsck of the root partition from a live disk.

Re: Arch freezes randomly

I add more info:

When the system crashes I rebooted, the next time it boots appears the following screen:

Starting version 251.1-1-arch
/dev/sda9: recovering journal
/dev/sda9 contains a file system with errors, check forced.
Inode 131209 extent tree (at level 1) could be shorter. IGNORED.
Inode 0149892 extent tree (at level 1) could be shorter. IGNORED.
/dev/sda9: |------------------------------------ \79,8%

When that is finished:

/dev/sda9: 373899/9986048 files (0.8% non-contiguous), 11152358/39933014 blocks

Then the system  boots correctly, I use it normally. And a few days later it crashes again (sometimes in 2 days, sometimes in a week).

Re: Arch freezes randomly

I'd really stop trusting the drive in that case. If you don't have one, make a backup ASAP (preferably from a live disk while not actively using the drive otherwise) and look for a replacement
