Kdenlive not loading any plugins

Hi! I've spent days on this, and I just cannot figure out what's going on here. I need motion capture to work, I have opencv installed but kdenlive won't load any plugins at all -- and they are definitely installed. I've tried the stock package, the latest release git, and even the appimage (which just crashes).

plugin not available: "ladspa"
plugin not available: "movit.unsharp_mask"
plugin not available: "region"
plugin not available: "timewarp"
plugin not available: "region" 

I've seen this problem pop up on various other distros but no one has ever posted a solution for them either. Anyone have any clue where to go from this?
