Changing the colour/tint of KDE's disabled icons

In KDE, disabled icons end up being a washed out white colour (confirmed by a colour picker and easily detected by my eyes), regardless of which colour those icons are or what I've set my colour palette to. The result is that my theme has a mismatch in colours.

Take a look in the upper right corner at the cut, copy, past... icons. The icons should be a dark cyan, but they end up being a dark grey:

Any ideas what causes this and how to change it?
