Can't Change Default Applications in GNOME Through GNOME Software

I have just finished installing GNOME and tried to change the default applications, but after installing Firefox and VLC through GNOME's Software app they're not showing up to be changed to on the Default Applications window. I also noticed that I can't uninstall Web (Epiphany) through the Software app, or any of GNOME's default applications, which is annoying.

I then tried to install VLC with pacman, which let me change it to be my default. Is there any way to make this work with the Software app?

Thank you for any assistance, I wish you all a lovely day/evening!

Try Gnome Settings to set your default applications.

Also pacman is the best way to manage your system.
